I came across an article recently which was discussing family portraits – you know, the “Sit up straight and sit still” type of portraits which somehow capture the discomfort of being in the photographer’s studio having a formal picture taken. The suggestion made was to go dressed in matching pajamas instead of the Sunday best outfits. You can probably get away with much less formal poses and get the family to relax much more.
